if you like what we're doing...
...we'd love your support. There are a couple of ways that you can really help us to keep doing what we're doing:
Make a donation:
'Our thing' may be all about not asking for money, but ironically that's exactly what we need right now.
Our plans mean that one happy day we won't have to beg anyone for donations or for grants, as we'll be a grown up and independent (not for profit) business. But that happy day isn't here yet. So for now, we have to hold back our pride and ask you for your generous donations, not just your DoActions.
We're pretty frugal with our cash and make every penny stretch as far as we can. So really, we mean it when we say that every little helps... However much you give, it'll be hugely appreciated.
Volunteer:
We're a small team and could always do with a few extra hands from talented and willing volunteers. Here are some things we're currently looking for help with:
- Writing new DoActions: we've got a varied wish-list of DoActions we'd like to add, and would love your help in bringing them to life on the site. This will require fair knowledge of the topic (relevant to whichever DoAction you choose - from walking to school to lagging your loft) and punchy, engaging writing skills.
- Designing DoAction icons: we love our icons. As new DoActions are created, new icons are needed. If you've got a funky creative flair and think you could create some in-style icons, please get in touch.
- Sponsored events listing: we strive to keep our calender of events up to date, listing all the upcoming mass participation sporting and sponsored events. If you know of any events that aren't listed there, please let us know the details!
- Guest blogs: we are always looking for guest bloggers, especially from our wonderful Doers.
- Representing us at events: given our size, we don't manage to get out to as many events as we'd like to. We've got some lovely flyers though. If you'd like to share the love and spread the word, we'd love you to represent us at any appropriate events.
- Get your school involved: if you know a school that might be interested in using The DoNation as a fun and engaging educational tool, please direct them to our 'for organisations' page. We'd love to chat about it with them or you...
