Henry Unwin: 1 day; 2 coasts; 106 miles
Multi sport race across Scottiesland!
As far as challenges go, this is up there. Somewhere between tricky and completely epic (and a little mad).
For some obscure and unbeknown reason I have signed up to cross Scotland in 1 day. The route takes me from Nairn (East Coast) to Glencoe (west Coast), on the way I will encounter monsters, haggisis, the UK's highest mountain, Scottish weather and the odd blister.
In case any of you are thinking I'm doing this by car and therefore not worthy of sponsorship here is how I will get across this epic landscape (all low carbon of course!):
21 miles running (off road up massive Scottish hills)
81 miles cycling (16 miles of which will be off road on haggis* infested tracks)
3 miles Kayaking* (yes I know, a bit token but it is across Loch Ness and therefore there will be a monster)

* for those of you who have never seen a Haggis, here is a relatively well tamed one: http://lochgelly.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/haggis2.jpg
*no idea how to Kayak!
This is a huge challenge, bigger than anything I have done before. I would really appreciate your support to get through this. I am asking you to support me with a small environmental action (or lots if you want!) rather than flashing your cash around. The hope is that together you will be able to have a significant impact on the environment and see how easy it is to
Yes, I'm asking you to sponsor me... But no, I'm not asking you to give me your change: I'm asking you to create change.
The DoNation is all about creating a more sustainable world, about protecting the environment on which our livelihoods depend. And the environment needs our action more than it needs our cash. It is a great organisation so please support it!
HOW IT WORKS:
Browse the DoActions and find one (or more) that suits you, then make your pledge(s). Some are really easy; others take a bit more effort.
You only pledge to do your chosen action for two months and all the information you need is provided here on The DoNation, making it really easy to complete. You'll receive a few helpful reminders and then at the end of the two months you'll be asked to confirm how you got on.
So please, get doing!
Thank you!!
