tompakenham: Tom Pakenham: Triathlon

on 28 Sep 2013 in Hever Castle, East Sussex

Sophie tells me that I need to get my sh*t together and do some exercise. I agree. The fact that we had twins 9 weeks ago, less than 3 months before doing a triathlon (ok, it's only a sprint, but still) makes me wonder whether this was a good idea; or a very good one. Anyway, save for a cataclysmic pooey nappy, it's happening and I need you to help me reach my sponsorship target.

There is a bunch of blurb below about this crazy and unusual type of sponsorship, but it can basically be summed up as follows: you sponsor me by doing something yourself, rather than giving a charity of my choice money. The charity, in this case, is the world. I am on the advisory board for the donation and very much believe in it as a new form of sponsorship, so what better way to support it than doing an event?

Thanks for all the excellent actions that I am sure you'll be doing now!

BLURB EXPLAINING THE DONATION

Yes, I'm asking you to sponsor me... But no, I'm not asking you to give me your change: I'm asking you to create change.

The DoNation is all about creating a more sustainable world, about protecting the environment on which our livelihoods depend. And the environment needs our action more than it needs our cash.

HOW IT WORKS:
Browse the DoActions and find one (or more) that suits you, then make your pledge(s). Some are really easy; others take a bit more effort.

You only pledge to do your chosen action for two months and all the information you need is provided here on The DoNation, making it really easy to complete. You'll receive a few helpful reminders and then at the end of the two months you'll be asked to confirm how you got on.

So please, get doing!

Thank you!!
