Carbon defeated

The irony is too big to bear... I just had to share:

A friend spotted it last weekend at a vintage advertising exhibition at Dimbola Lodge on the Isle of Wight. Designed in 1928, I believe was referring to something to do with carbon deposits in the engine... anyone who can decipher the sign below please tell us more!
