The Do Awards

The Do Awards 2012

It’s just two weeks today (and counting) until our first ever Do Awards party – on 27th June. I'm getting pretty excited.

In part, the evening will be a (somewhat belated) first birthday party for The DoNation, but the main purpose is to celebrate, reward, and to finally meet our pioneering Doers. So (thanks to our kind sponsors – see below) we’ll be giving out a few awards to some of the Doers who’ve most blown our socks off this year.

If you haven’t got your tickets yet, then head over to Eventbrite and book right away – there aren’t many left!

And I’m now proud to announce the shortlists for each of these…*

The Do Hero Award – nominated by you.

This one’s in your hands! If you’ve ever raised sponsorship through The DoNation, then please let us know if any of your sponsors particularly impressed you.

It may be that they took on a DoAction that was particularly challenging to them (like a meataholic doing Veg Out), or that they were just incredibly diligent with keeping to their word, never letting barriers (like wind, rain, and snow, for those doing On Yer Bike) get in the way.  Whatever it is, we want to hear from you. Please , with the name of the Doer you’re nominating and what DoAction they did, as well as just a few lines about why you think they deserve to win.

A huge thank you must go to the wonderful organisations who have donated prizes for the awards:

Union Jacks          TYF Adventure

                         Abel & Cole

Beetroot Books          UK Wolf Conservation Trust

And once again, if you haven't already...

It's going to take place at the wonderful Tea House Theatre in Vauxhall, where there's  endless choice of teas, wine, beer, and cakes, as well as some free ice cream courtesy of Ben & Jerry's!

*The small print: only Doers completing challenges before 10th May 2012 were considered in this year's shortlist. For the Most CO2 saved, we only factored in savings from actions that have been confirmed by sponsors - if they didn't confirm their completion then we sadly have to assume that they didn't do it. And the judge's decision is final, bla bla bla...
